The chief difference is that Hunter is 100% guilty of a real crime; while Trump was a fake conviction based on a non-existent imaginary and fabricated "crime". No comparison at all. Hunter will walk, Trump will get jail time.

The Hunter case was a Democrat way of trying to show that justice is true and not partisan, basically trying to justify Trump's conviction as "real" non-partisan justice. It's all a political set-up.

"Let’s begin with an undisputed fact. Neither Biden nor Trump would ever have been prosecuted, but for their names."

Is this really the case, Alan? The Trump case is cut and dried -- there is no other person who would be charged with a felony for paying off his one-night-stand 9 years ago. However, are other career drug addicts who attempt to buy guns prosecuted? I don't know, but I hope so.

"Trump was prosecuted by a Democratic district attorney in order to influence the election. Then Biden had to be subjected to a special prosecutor to avoid the election being influenced"

You are actually making my case for me here. Trump was prosecuted to keep him from winning an election against Joe Biden. Hunter was prosecuted because he's politically inconvenient to Joe Biden's re-election. The commonality is the Democratic Party. Republicans aren't the ones engaging in lawfare.

"It is time to end this tit for tat misuse of the legal system."

Overall, I agree. Because while Republicans aren't doing it yet (and don't want to), if this persists, they won't have a choice. Conservative cities can elect DAs who will weaponize the law too.
