I’m glad I don’t have to be the one deciding on abortion. I have supported the woman’s right to chose but I definitely don’t think it’s right at the end of the pregnancy. But what is the “end”? Nine months? Eight months? Also, if a person kills a pregnant woman on purpose does the offender get charged with one murder or two? If the answer is two, then aren’t the courts saying that the unborn is a life?
Perhaps the real issue is what on a sonogram at 12 or 15 weeks today as opposed to what was seen back in 1973 and as Professors Bickel, Ely and Bork pointed out that Roe was jurisprudentially as bad a decision as Dred Scott and Lochner , etc and similar cases where the Court engaged in writing legislation as opposed to deciding cases and controversies.
