I agree with the spirit of your piece, Kyle is no hero, he made some foolish mistakes. But I disagree that "He never should have gone to Kenosha. He never should have armed himself". and that people should not defend their property from rioters and leave it all up to law enforcement. In Kenosha that night, clearly law enforcement was not doing their job. Same in the BLM riots in cities across America where many businesses were burned to the ground. Allowing riots to get out of hand is the real thing we should all be railing against here -- it is bad for this country to allow thugs to do whatever they want on the streets. If law enforcement refuses to step in they (and the politicians holding them back) are the ones creating the need for a private militia, and many already employ private security for this reason, but not everyone can afford that. Politicians are creating a very very dangerous situation and we can try and exhort people to be peace loving, but we can't tell them not to defend themselves, and just go "take a beating" every now and then. That's the kind of thing you have to tolerate if you are a Christian in Iran, Pakestan or Nigeria, but it it is not something Americans should tolerate.

Always value your opinion. I would have probably gone to law school if you could have been my professor.
