Joseph Massad, a rabid anti-Zionist who jumped for joy and literally shouted in ecstatic amazement when Hamas slaughtered 1200 Jews on Oct 7, was hired by Columbia to give the only course on Zionism. He also wrote profoundly mendacious propaganda books. The other two courses offered by Columbia - who lies about their content in official declarations- are about Jewish life. This is not only an academic crime but a perfect example of Qatar’s money working. It would be extremely important to investigate the nefarious influence of their financing the corrosion of American intellect and historic veracity, which is substituted for malignantly biased opinion. Withholding public funding is perfectly justified, and not yet enough to get to the perverse bottom of an illness affecting the future leaders of the US and perhaps the West at large.

Sadly, withholding funding does not address the moral sin of persecution Of Jews. How to deal with that problem escapes us.

By the way, one can be pro-Palestinian or anti-war or even anti-Israel, whatever, but leave American Jews the fuck alone. One can be anti-Elon Musk, but leave Tesla owners the fuck alone.

Correct article, I agree 100%. However, for me, Democrats have a 200 year history of racism, so their anti semitic behaviour is not surprising in any way.

Pro -Hamas support should be treated as pro -Nazi support. It should be reviled and punished.

This is really not that complicated. When we were children and depended on mommy and daddy for money, they got to tell us what to do. As independent adults, we get to make decisions. The nanny state is no different: if you want its money, you may forfeit your independence. But there’s a choice: you don’t have to take it and in exchange you get more freedom (though not from breaking the law).

Good argument. However, I wonder about how our Government selects certain universities to assist financially. It funds Ivy League universities, which are private, and also state universities. But wnat about accredited Jewish, Catholic and Evangelical universities, many of which have been serving the U.S. population since the early 1800s? I went to a Catholic University, Villanova. The only federal help there was based on a NROTC program which started after World War ii. IT was much appreciated. However, can these private Jewish and Christian Universities apply for other kinds of federal assistance, based on the merits of their STEM or other faculties?

The easiest thing to do is give no one money

Let me say it again no college in America seems to deserve money from us

No college in America should be allowed to receive the billions of dollars that they have from foreign countries, including Iran, Qatar, UAE, etc, etc, etc.

Stop all federal funding of schools, colleges, and universities. Stop all federal student lending. Apply normal tax rates to all endowments. Hire competent corporate executive as President of Columbia and all large universities.

A better question is where in the Constitution is the Federal Government given the power to tax the people to fund these universities in the first place. Ignoring that, the whole purpose of taxing the people to fund things that are entirely the business of the states, is to force the states (and the things in the states, like universities) to do as the Federal Government demands. IF the Federal Government has the power to fund universities in the first place, of course it has the power to impose strings on that funding. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT!

Why should I who paid for my education (including GI BILL education after serving in Vietnam) pay with taxes for anyone, foreign or otherwise

Diversity is not a known thing therefore it can only be known some kind of political discrimination

Equity should be replaced by Opportunity For All… not by political definition

Inclusion will naturally come when opportunity for all has been accomplished
