An impartial jury for Trump in DC is a very real issue, as you state, and I seriously doubt an appeal for a change of venue will be successful. The main reason is that this whole case has nothing to do with the law, nothing to do with justice, it is 100% political in nature. Democrat prosecutors do not want an impartial jury or an impartial judge, they want a conviction. The whole objective is to destroy Trump by any means possible, legal or otherwise.

Not only are they trying to destroy Trump, they are trying to destroy our nation!

Beyond any purely legal reasons to change venues, it simply must be done because we are playing with dynamite here. This is the former - and perhaps the next - POTUS we are talking about, in a country that is already dangerously divided, faced with an unprecedented (and to many, coordinated) legal assault by the party in power in the midst of an election.

I have repeatedly asked Biden supporters what, exactly, they think is going to happen in this country if they manage to throw Trump into jail.

They never answer.

God help us, because all hell is going to break loose.

Alan, let be crystal clear, blind justice NO longer exist. Billy Jack said best, when the law breaks the law, then there are no laws, just the will to survive . There are those with money and power who are above the law and. that's the truth. the United States has lost its moral compass . Finally, the constitution is no longer respected . Even George W (stupid ) Bush said in one of his press conferences " The constitution is just a piece of paper. Think of it, A president of the United States making such a quote . How cleared do I need to be?

My perspective is that the four indictments and pending trials during election season are all Election Interference. The facts aren’t new. They should have been brought to trial in 2021-22. Since they weren’t, it’s incumbent upon the federal and state courts to defer to the highest polling competition of the Incumbent to bring him to trial after our election. They are disenfranchising half of the electorate, a right and privilege granted to them, not the courts or justice department. Judge Chutken remarked disrespectfully to Trump the justice takes priority over his campaign for POTUS. (Everyone has a job, we all have schedules, but court schedules come first.) President Trump will be there, on time, because he does pay appropriate respect to the courts, Ive noticed. (Better man than I am, Gunga Din.)

On his August 6th program, "This Week", George Stephanopoulos argues with Trump's attorney, John Lauro, spewing incorrect information. This, in my opinion, is election interference. He is using his program to sway the American public who listen to his program. He needs to be called out for his actions.

This is the continual legal persecution of a political opponent..I completely understand the crowd's frustration that led to the Capitol breach. After watching mobs of leftists riot through 2020, destroying cities and causing physical harm to others, with democrats supporting their freedom of expression, conservatives, who had had enough of this injustice, felt emboldened to do the same...Democrats have only dug their heels in further to persecute Republicans and deprive the party of equal justice.

I am losing hope.

What is worse is that many remain in jail 2.75 years later, waiting to be charged.

“Furthermore, the anger against Trump is understandable in light of the fact that the events of January 6th directly involved many citizens of the district.”

I don’t agree that many of the J6 events directly involved DC citizens. Im not sure what you mean here professor. If you are talking about traffic inconveniences, I get that. But how were average DC citizens DIRECTLY involved? Most of the protesters were from outside of the district. Also, I didn’t think members of Congress were DC citizens.

Mid-afternoon Mayor Muriel Bowser decided to call the National Guard (whom Trump authorized two days earlier). Remember, it was a much larger crowd than just rioters. Many were leaving DC knowing nothing about a riot.

Did the prosecution get an “impartial judge” in the Mar-a-Lago case? Why are you Trump’s apologist? Does he have something on you? Have anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein?

Can we make the same assumption of judges and DAs that indict Trump and rule against him, that THEY must be on the take, as well?
