Agreed. But the hypocrisy award has to go to the Democrats. The Republicans need to focus on the most serious charge which is selling out the country for the Biden family gain to Ukraine and China that we know about. This scares everyone on the Hill since the lines between legitimate lobbying and selling influence have blurred beyond recognition of a hard line which should not be crossed over the past two decades. . . . And maybe they don't really want to impeach Joe Biden.

Sorry, this only time I disagree. I am not a lawyer but the Constitution makes it clear that if any President puts the Country in danger he can be removed. Now a lawyer would want proof. Understandable. Biden, has a health issue effecting his brain. He cannot make decision on his own. Turn right Joe, turn left, this is so and so. He cannot even say a speech that is coherent. Plus, he holds nuclear codes. Sorry you do not give a stick of dynamite to a child. He needs to be removed asap.

Democrats tried to impeach Trump and failed twice. Both impeachments were based false premise and they knew darn well that the impeachments would fail, they are not stupid, but that did not stop them. Trump impeachments were designed as political "dog and pony" media shows, to tarnish Trump's reputation, along with the Russian collusion hoax, perpetrated by Obama, Biden and Hillary in an other failed attempt to destroy Trump. All of these failed attempts were purely political in nature, they did not have to win, they just wanted to create suspicion and negative media talking points that persist to this day. Republicans can certainly do the same to Biden, no problem. However in this case, there appears to be real criminality when it comes to a legacy of bribes, kick-backs and money laundering through various shell companies, plus the illegal hoarding of classified materials. Typical of Democrats, always pointing the accusing finger at someone else, when they are 100% guilty of doing the same thing themselves.

The Democrats engage in constant, ruthless lawfare to achieve their ends, with no concern for ethics so long as they win. They twist the law into a tesseractic pretzel in the process! The Republicans make occasional flimsy gestures with the clear intent of losing. Why do they do this? The relationship is like that of a violent husband and a battered wife. We mustn't stoop to their level, or make them angry. It's our fault if they become enraged! Trump was such a welcome break in this pattern. Of course they don't want to hold Biden to account, but to strengthen his position when they inevitably fail.

There is still the question of the interregnum period. At least some crimes preceded his Presidency, as Bobolinski questioned Jim Biden about how the Biden’s could do what they were doing when Joe MIGHT be running for President.

And Boebert’s draft should be dropped. But you’re right about tarnishing him. After this year, he deserves it big time.

“ Democrats tried to impeach Trump and failed twice.”

With all due respect, Democrats succeeded both times impeaching Trump. They failed to convict him both times.

If Republicans attempt to impeach Biden, the best they can do is succeed in impeaching him. Their chances of convicting Biden in the Senate are practically zero.

We all know that the bidens are crooked. Just imagine if the trumps were getting millions of dollars from foreign governments. At least the trumps could make the case that they were actually doing work as opposed to an addicted to Coke kid who never had a freaking job in his life. It's obviously crooked. The fact that it's not been impeached so far it's because the FBI lied about the laptop which they knew for an entire year was legit before they released the letter and pressured social media to take it down. But people like Alan dershowitz pretend to be not biased when he is totally totally totally biased by his inability to speak out

I have been a fan of yours since before I went to law school. I am an attorney; a graduate of Cardozo Law School in NYC presently practicing in NY and NJ. I am also a former Democrat. I am now an independent that votes primarily for Republicans (few exceptions). Like you, I am an avowed libertarian. I would love to hear your take (particularly for dems and us ex-dems) as to why the recent (seemingly hard) disclosed discovery regarding Hunter's documented communications with foreign actors in countries where Joe had been delegated agency responsibility while V.P., discovery which reasonably implicates Joe Biden ("the big guy") with actions that would have clearly legally constituted impeachable activity at the time, is now routinely being casually dismissed by members of the party as if "There is nothing to see here (redirect to bad Trump)". While most previous accusations "could" reasonably and honestly support this now common evasive technique, it would seem that what we're seeing here is at a different level altogether. If true, the implications would likely justify the branding of any present day effort to "cover up" the past bad acts as itself "a high Crime and Misdemeanor" in order to cover up past acts of treason and/or bribery. I am finding it impossible as an ex-dem to justify what the party is now doing, as I would imagine that finding Biden an exit ramp would be the logical move to "safeguard" the party's political interests at this juncture. It just doesn't make sense. Please clarify if you can. Shalom.

Anyone who doesn't condemn Biden for selling out his country for millions of dollars is an ass. I loved Alan dershowitz as a kid but now that I've grown up I'm realizing that he's just a freaking commie. Democrats are freaking commies because they're putting their power ahead of getting rid of a president who takes bribes from foreign countries. And don't give me that shit that we don't know it's true. Can you imagine if Trump's kids were getting millions of dollars from foreign countries? At least Trump's kids were real businessmen while Hunter is just a drug addict that can't keep a job.

I agree that impeachment won't bring Joe down and that's because the democrats in the senate won't convict him...They don't have a shred of integrity..They only care about acquiring power and keeping it, no matter how much corrupt schitt they have to ignore...And just because a conviction is highly unlikely, that is no reason for ignoring what this corrupt, incompetent pos has done....

As far as the impeachment being hypocritical: Joe has taken millions from foreign governments, via his family members, for looking the other way and for making favorable policy for corrupt governments..

What really upsets me is that everyday there's a new revelation what the government DIRECTLY censored social media AND YOU DON'T CARE. Where is the ACLU? It so frustrates me. This is the FUNDAMENTAL civil liberty. It's the first amendment to our Constitution. And you all don't care? It's not going to help you politically. You are just another power hungry commie. My God, I never understood why McCarthy and crowd went after commies until now. Commies don't care about free speech. You care about your political friends. You care about power. You DON'T care about free speech. You DON'T care about liberty.

If you’re on Substack, subscribe to Matt Taibbi, (Racket News), Michael Schellenberger (Public), and RFK Jr’s new podcast. The first two completed the Twitter Files, and are following Missouri v Biden. Bobby Jr was also hauled before Congress re: censorship. Lot of laughs in these hearings if they weren’t so serious!

If they stop Trump from running for President, you have lost your republic. Where are the civil liberty protestors? Oh! You never gave a crap about civil liberties. You always wanted a commie state. Your side are a bunch of sickos.

If Trump is removed by the courts or DoJ, we have lost our Republic, whether or not we planned to vote for him. Enfranchisement is the right of citizens, and it is not the Justice Department to remove a candidate.

I have heard you speak enough, Alan, that I know you are a defender of our civil liberties even if I am surprised by something you write.

I loved you as a kid. But now with all the Biden corruption, they are trying to arrest and kill all the people who ratted on him..... YOU ARE NOT SAYING A WORD. SO F U. You don't care about civil liberties. You are a commie. Controlled opposition. How bad can Biden get before you'll say a single word. All you ACLU people, you don't care about civil liberties, you don't care about freedom, you don't care about free speech, all you care about is being a commie.

What so sickening is that YOU KNOW Hunter got millions of dollars by using his Dad which means Joe was in on it. There is no freaking way that Joe was not in on it. All it would take is for one time for Hunter to promise something and Joe not come through, and Hunter would be laughed out of the room. But you really don't care because you really don't give a fuck about our Republic. You're just a shill who attacks Trump and takes up for Biden. You're a Commie Shill.
