disagree in part.....different cases....the SEC LIED TO CONGRESS....his reluctance to do his job, border security yielded many many deaths. Pres Trump caused NO deaths, purely political...and you know it

Alan, sir, there is no comparison between Trump and the damage Mayorkas has done.

Somehow it doesn’t seem like the same thing, our borders are wide open, our country is being invaded nd Mayorkus has lied about it openly there are videos, the real issue is that he should have been removed and held accountable for lying in testimony when it happened not wait until election time and make it look like political nonsense

It is not the same thing Professor……you still have a lot to learn though I do learn from you you need to learn from us and you are not…..new info came out about OJ that contradicts your claims that have no data about racial lines….and excuse me but Trump did nothing to deserve impeachment ….Mayorkas though maybe it should be someone else or all of them BorgDems certainly is a traitor to we the people….if one is carrying out orders in Nazi Germany what would you say?…if they did not stand up against wrong?….

You are obviously ignorant. The cases are totally different. Many of us have lost respect for you because of your comments like this.

Professor, I agree with your assessment on Mayorkas' impeachment, however, I think the real objective was never legal but 100% political. Congressmen are largely lawyers, so they are not stupid, they can read the Constitution like anybody else and are fully aware of the restrictive conditions for impeachment. It was simply a "tit for tat" move by the GOP in revenge for the Trump failed impeachments, and to highlight the corruption of Mayorkas' failed border policy. The border is the real issue here, not the impeachment. The GOP wanted to bring this border issue to the forefront, especially for the Democrat controlled media and all to see. Not everyone reads the press or follows political news closely, but many read or hear headlines. That was the whole point: the border issue. It's all political theatre, for the GOP as well as the Democrats, the law has virtually nothing to do with it.

As for Biden, I firmly believe that in his desperation, he is quite willing to sacrifice Israel for his electoral potential. The last thing he wants is higher oil prices coming into a Fall election, so he will gladly toss Israel under the bus to achieve his short term objectives. Biden has repeatedly shown that he has NO scruples or principles. Biden did drain the oil reserves at the last election in order to lower fuel prices at the pump, thereby taking a chance of putting the nation in great danger. Biden does not care how low he will stoop to win.

You are correct about Cronkite, those days are gone, journalists with integrity, high morals and honesty in their work. We used to watch him every night. Those were the days all right.

It is so frightening and disconcerting that a large number of people crossing the border are hostile to Israel and America. They have no intention of assimilating. I think that there may very well be a terror attack in N.Y.

I pretty much concur with this one. Mayorkas' job is to implement the policies of the head of the executive branch. By that standard, he's doing his job perfectly. Obama was right: elections have consequences. If the Congress wants to impeach someone for refusing to enforce our borders, the man to impeach is named Joe Biden.

However, I don't think they should waste time on that either, since it will go nowhere in the US Senate. Better to focus on winning the the 2024 election. (Which our host here isn't going to help with, since he's already said he won't vote for Donald Trump.)

Biden and Mayorkas planned and executed the invasion of the United States by millions of illegal aliens, deliberately undermining the rule of law, national security, national sovereignty, the meaning of citizenship, public safety, and election integrity. Their actions are subversive.

Impeachment is a political act, meaning that the party with a majority can impeach and convict in the Senate for whatever reason it chooses, or, as just happened, fail to even have a trial in the Senate.

There is no doubt that the Founders would consider the overtly subversive actions of Biden and Mayorkas to be impeachable. They are destroying the country.

I'd like an explanation of what "high crimes and misdemeanors" are please. Mayorkas systematically encouraged and enabled a full scale invasion of our country at the southern border and lied about it to Congress. How does this not qualify? How is this not treason? It is at the very least breaking our immigration laws.

Mayorkas is neglecting his duty as Homeland Security chief to protect our border. That sounds to me like an impeachable offense. Imagine if the secretary of defense purposely allowed a foreign military to invade. The director of Homeland Security is purposely allowing a foreign invasion. And if he's acting on orders, then the president needs to be impeached as well.

In my humble opinion what Sec. Mayorkas has done is equal to treason, especially if any of those who have crossed the border commit terrorist attacks on a wide scale! Benedict Arnold is his bedfellow.
