If you believe this, Alan, then it is NOT a "complicated issue" at all.
I fail to understand why so many liberals try to complicate very simple questions: are there meaningful differences between men and women. If the former is true (newsflash -- it is true), we need to have a political discussion about how to treat each sex fairly while still preserving the distinction between them -- separate but equal gets a bad name, but this is a case where it absolutely applies.
If men and woman are in fact the same (this is absurd but insisted on by most of the Democratic party today) then no distinctions (legal or otherwise) may be made between them.
The consequences of each answer may be messy, but the question itself is glaringly simple.
If during the debate, Biden accuses Trump of being a "convicted felon", all Trump has to do is behave like any politician, ignore the statement and redirect to some other topic.....lol
