Impressive that Jefferson summarized the next two hundred years of case law on the First Amendment and how it would be limited by crimes and torts. Also I noted he misspelled received as "recieved" which suprises me that UVA Law has not declared the correct spelling to be recieved because Thomas Jefferson spelled it that way. lol.
Interesting. Sad for all those girls who were brighter than the boys who were excused for bad spelling! The “bright” side is that at least girls were expected to know how to spell and presumptively to read, too. Thanks for this new insight into the Thomas Jefferson mind.

He also misspelled too. He told his daughter that females are judged by their spelling, not males.
