For the first time in American history, the leading candidate to defeat the incumbent president has been indicted by the incumbent's Justice Department.
You are 100% correct. I find it suspect that this indictment comes out the very day Congress gets to see the FBI document that provides concrete proof of Biden's bribery history. This is desperate act on a sinking ship. Totally politically motivated.
My impression is that the FBI document is not “concrete proof.” The whistleblower may be a credible witness, but there are many questions. Maybe, just maybe there is a good, nonpartisan reason the FBI is not avidly pursuing this particular lead of Biden family corruption. ? All the bank alerts re Biden shell companies seem more “concrete.”
As a liberal in the FDR/JFK/RFK democratic tradition, it has been clear to me since "Russiagate" that the attacks on Trump were purely politically motivated. The fact that the mass media has abandoned all pretense of impartiality and sided with the anti-democratic forces that are weilding power is frightening. The fact that so many of our citizens have been brainwashed into believing that censorship is a good thing is beyond frightening.
Prior to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the late Norman Mailer wrote:
"America is going to become a mega-banana republic where the army will have more and more importance in Americans' lives. It will be an ever greater and greater overlay on the American system. And before it is all over, democracy, noble and delicate as it is, may give way. My long experience with human nature -- I'm 80 years old now -- suggests that it is possible that fascism, not democracy, is the natural state.
Indeed, democracy is the special condition -- a condition we will be called upon to defend in the coming years. That will be enormously difficult because the combination of the corporation, the military and the complete investiture of the flag with mass spectator sports has set up a pre-fascistic atmosphere in America already."
We are now in uncharted waters. It remains to be seen whether our country can survive or whether the coup d'etat that has taken place turns us into a nightmare technocratic surveillance state.
I’m surprised to find a like minded person on this substack. I am not a liberal, not at all. While I personally cannot tell if Trump is or isn’t guilty of these charges, especially the one regarding the recording mentioned, it is quite obvious this is a political witch-hunt. Unfortunately almost ZERO of our politicians (maybe actually Zero, who knows?) do not have skeletons in their closets. The double standard reeks with an intensely putrid smell. How many past presidents or legislators would hold up under scrutiny? “There is no righteous person, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
True liberals are those that believe in the decentralization of the state, not the centralization of the state. True liberals are a derivation of Lockean and Kantian ethics; they were classical liberals and Jeffersonian republicans. FDR wasn't a liberal; he was a big state, big government, anti-enlightenment politician. He was the catalyst for the Clinton's, Obama's and Biden's, and his big safety nets were always unsustainable. True liberals were Ayn Rand, Rose Wilder Lane, Isabel Paterson, Garett Garett, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, Thomas Paine, etc. The Kennedy's were romantic because they were good men who cared about their country, and their policy proposals were relatively moderate, but FDR was an ignoramus and the U.S. is still reeling from his "New Deal" anti-liberal policies. I'd much prefer American democrats to take a history lesson, so that they will finally call themselves socialist, because that's what you truly are. And there is nothing wrong with advocating for that view, but don't pretend you are a liberal. There is a significant historical difference between socialism and liberalism. The "old right" is more liberal than the so-called neo-liberal democrats.
As a liberal who calls balls and strikes on the U.S. Constitution with exceeding fairness, you are well respected in the conservative community. Thanks for sticking to the truth and the law. You need to write and publish an annotated U.S. Constitution (around 100 pages so everyone will be willing to read it). It would be a best seller. Thanks!
Could the Supreme Court create a review process for all prosecutions of federal candidates for office? Any indictment of a federal candidate must be reviewed and voted on in order to continue. Furthermore, if the Court finds political intent behind it, it can put the prosecutors in legal jeopardy.
This might get me called anti Semitic even though I'm Jewish and am against anti Semitism and veri pro Israel. Merrick Garlands Grandparents escaped from the Pogroms in the Soviet Union to come to freedom in the US. Why is Garland governing the same way the leaders in the Soviet Union whom his grandparents escaped from governed? Why is he not confronted about that Alan?
It's simple for Mr. Garland, do as I say I enjoy power. I enjoy the right to get even with those I dislike. And that is a personality Trait. He has always been like that he will always be like that he will not change. And until forced out he'll continue there reking havoc. He apparently has a great dislike for the United States of America. If you can still get a copy read Cracks in the Constitution
I’d also like to hear former U.S. Attorney General Barr’s take on all of this. In his memoir he did say that our system makes it difficult for the AG to maintain neutrality, as he or she is also a member of the president’s cabinet.
Just to help clear this up - Merrick Garland is head of the DOJ, which is also the U.S. Attorney General. Effectively two ways to refer to the same post.
The DOJ was founded in 1870 to support the Office of the Attorney General, and the AG was made the head of it.
We don’t have an impartial justice system anymore. Just a bunch of treasonous dogs in Washington with the Rottweiler being Joe Biden. DOI and FBI both need to be dismantled and decentralized outside Washington. All classified documents need to be unclassified until this government gains our trust again. Right now we live in 1932 Germany. Will the Democrats succeed in taking us the rest of the way and turning this once freedom loving Republic into a totalitarian state? I hope they don’t succeed.
In my opinion (discounting a smoking gun) this could work in trump and Republicans favor. Once again democrats will be caught overstepping in their unending pursuit of political prosecution. An inditement is a long way from a conviction. Yet we still have the bidens not being charged w anything along w fbi,Cia running cover for them.
Alan, if you think he's innocent after reading the data I'd kindly request that you consider helping him. I heard from a reliable source close to Trump that he's having a difficult time finding first rate attorney's, because most of them are afraid of becoming the next political "target".
.When you have your freedom you don't think anything of it. When your freedom is gone and you've lost it by your own inaction, It becomes what we call in business a non returnable item. Once you lose your freedom as a country and you've surrendered it. You never get it back.
My understanding is this is the first time in American history that I know of anyways that attorney client privilege no longer exist. And you're acting like it's okay instead of screaming from the rooftops. If Trump was a mass murderer and they took away his attorney client privilege, you probably would be screaming from the rooftops. I'm sure the ACLU would be screaming from the rooftops. But you all don't care, because it's your political opponent. You're a bunch of freaking assholes.
The Guinness World Book of Records for the most Criminal Charges may go to Donald Trump:
He has been charged by Alvan Bragg with at least 35 plus
Jack Smith - Documents- 37
January 6th will be - ? I'm guessing 30 to a 100
Lettia James - 40 to 60
AG of Atlanta/Fulton County - 40 to 60
This could be a worlds record. I had no idea he was one of the worst criminals in history!
Compared to the Biden Crime Family, Trump is by far the father of crime! - I put him up next to Pretty Boy Floyd, or George Floyd, or Madoff or Al Capone!
Oh yeah, he may be charged with another rape. Damn, how did he live to be 75 years old and we are first finding out he was a criminal all along?
Alan, I'm hoping you'll go into depth on this in an upcoming video. From my layman's understanding, relying on the Espionage Act and asserting that National Defense information was mishandled effectively sidesteps the debate about classification authority, correct?
National Defense information is protected by this ~100 year old statute that preceded the entire Classification system.
If Trump is found guilty of it, what are his options in taking the Espionage Act to the Supreme Court to challenge its constitutionality?
I know the Act is often questioned on 1st Amendment grounds, but as this charge has to due with "willfully retains" in 793e, do you think that is still subject to a reasonable challenge on other grounds?
Thank you, Howard, though I feel like an idiot. (: Of course, if you hadn’t corrected me, I might have harbored more sympathy for the tarnished Garland. Who knows, maybe that Supreme Court loss unhinged him.

I’m a lifelong Republican and I believe Trump should be imprisoned. Just read the indictment. Trump hasn’t challenged any of the allegations.
