I'm old enough to remember JFK. I've seen every kind of politics, much of it dirty and dishonest. But I've never seen the likes of what has happened since 2016. We are now a banana republic Stalinists state. Hopefully, Trump will pull us back from the brink.
But we should never have been at the brink in the first place. I have to ask myself why swamp people felt so compelled to ignore the law, the constitution or even common decency to go after Trump. It has to be that both parties have been keeping a lid on their corruption for years, even decades, and Trump was exposing it.
That upsets me, but doesn't surprise me. What both upsets and surprises me is the millions of US citizens who swallowed the lies, hook, line, and sinker.
