Allan, I read your post three times and I must convey to you, that I'm convinced beyond a shadow of doubt, that there are individuals in these United States that possess enormous power, influence and money that jurisprudence can not touch, in other words, they are above the law. So the questions is: Do we truly have blind justice in America? NO we do not. In the USA we buy justice. That is why if something happens, people will say " You better get a good lawyer" So be ready to lose your home because the money is going to the lawyer. So we buy Justice . Trust me Hunter Biden will not be touched, no matter what ever they throw at him. HIs protected well. If we have lost Justice, then it is safe to say, that we have lost the value of the Constitution of the United States , it has no meaning in today's USA. You might as well call our nation a "10 bananas " because that's the reality.

Mr Dershowitz, Sir....you don’t really think we have a justice system operating, do you?....it is all a farce....and the Constitution has been ripped to shreds by this administration....and the Dems even in the last administration.......your articles are always informative but the legal system is dead....or hopefully in the hands of God in the end God always wins....you do a lot of deep thinking for no reason at all.....sorry but I am devastated by the state of our country.....I do have a question.....why do you remain a BorgDem?....it is the party of slavery and you do know your history I assume....I am not saying be a Republican.....but at least an Independent....thank you for your articles...

Based on some recent court cases I believe the gun charge will be unconstitutional. From Chat GPT: There have been some recent court cases concerning guns and marijuana in the US. Here is a summary of some of them:

- In August 2023, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled that a federal law banning firearm ownership for illegal drug users is unconstitutional as it violates the Second Amendment. The case involved Patrick Daniels, a marijuana user who was found guilty of possessing a handgun, a semi-automatic rifle, and marijuana cigarette butts in his car during a traffic stop in Mississippi. The court said that the mere use of marijuana does not justify stripping him of his fundamental right to possess a firearm¹.

- In February 2023, a federal judge in Oklahoma ruled that the same federal law prohibiting people who use marijuana from owning firearms is unconstitutional, citing the Supreme Court decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen that set new standards for interpreting the Second Amendment. The case involved Jared Michael Harrison, who was charged after police found a loaded revolver and marijuana in his car. The judge said that the law was not consistent with the historical tradition of firearm regulation².

- In September 2023, another federal court ruled that banning marijuana consumers from possessing guns is unconstitutional. The case involved Lisa Folajtar, who was convicted of making a false statement on her tax returns and was barred from owning firearms because of her felony status. She argued that her conviction did not involve violence or public safety and that she should not lose her Second Amendment rights. The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia agreed with her and said that the government failed to show a reasonable fit between its interest in preventing gun violence and disarming nonviolent felons³.

Pertaining to another Hunter/Joe subject, unlike you Professor Dershowitz, I do believe that the House will find evidence to impeach on bribery charges.

"The tragedy is that the coming presidential campaign is likely to be as much about our criminal justice system as about the economy, foreign policy, immigration, and other issues that affect all Americans."

----------------

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, because the criminal justice system is distorted and out of control and highly politicized even before the events of the pasty 6 months, but I doubt that's what the campaign will be about. Instead it will be about who's team will be granted the political power to criminally target the other team.
